Pembrokeshire, located in the southwest of Wales, is a county that is full of natural beauty, culture, and history. The county has a busy calendar of events throughout the year, but springtime is particularly special. Between April and the end of June, Pembrokeshire plays host to a range of festivals and events that showcase the county’s rich cultural heritage.
The St David’s Cathedral Festival is a ten-day celebration of classical music, held in late May and early June. The festival features performances by renowned musicians and choirs, as well as talks and workshops.
The Fishguard Folk Festival is a three-day celebration of traditional music, song, and dance, held in late May. The festival features performances from some of the best folk musicians in the country, as well as local artists. Visitors can also attend workshops and sessions, making it a great opportunity to learn more about traditional music.
The St Ishmaels Carnival is a traditional village carnival held in late May. The carnival features a parade of floats, decorated vehicles, and walkers, all celebrating the village and its community. There are also various stalls, games, and activities, making it a great family day out.
The Haverfoodfest is a celebration of local food and drink, held Saturday 20th May. The festival features over 50 stalls selling everything from artisan cheese and bread to craft beers and cider. There are also cookery demonstrations, talks, and tastings, making it a great opportunity to sample some of the county’s finest produce.
The Pembrokeshire Fish Week is a week-long celebration of local seafood, 22nd-30th June 2023. The festival features cookery demonstrations, fish auctions, and guided walks. Visitors can also sample some of the freshest seafood in the country and attend talks on marine conservation.
The Torch Theatre Film Festival is a three-day celebration of film, held in early June. The festival features screenings of the best new releases, as well as classic films and documentaries. There are also various events and talks, making it a great opportunity for film enthusiasts.
The Milford Haven Music Festival is a two-day celebration of music, held in mid-June. The festival features a range of musical genres, including rock, pop, and folk, and showcases both local and national artists. There are also various food and drink stalls, making it a great opportunity to enjoy some local produce.
